Rencontres Arles 2022

A.galerie will be exhibiting at the famous photography festival, Les Rencontres de la photographie, in Arles this summer. An exhibition of the work of Belgian photographer Benoît Feron will be presented at the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation.

The exhibition, entitled "Sense of Identity", will open on Monday 4 July and run until mid-September. Benoît Feron and the A.galerie team, consisting of François Delvoye and Alexandre Pain, will be present during the first week. They will be happy to welcome visitors from Belgium and all over the world.

SENSE OF IDENTITY

For this exhibition at the MRO Foundation, the choice was made to focus on these human, cultural and aesthetic abundances: thanks to an explosive mosaic, Benoît Feron reveals himself to be a passionate advocate of what brings us together as much as what makes our sublime and indispensable differences.

Jewellery from Djibouti, yogi gestures, ornaments from South Sudan or Indian transgenders: it is a small parade of the world far - and yet so close - from the Fashions Weeks in another world.

The exhibition is part of the official programme of the Rencontres. Admission is free for holders of a ticket to the Rencontres.

Benoît Feron

Benoît Feron cares deeply about the future of the people, places and wildlife he has photographed, and he speaks about them with passion. He supports several humanitarian and charitable projects, including En Avant les Enfants and Comequi (active in Kivu, Congo), the Fournier Majorie Foundation, BIG against breast cancer and the Tchendukua Association.

His work on the human being, a quest for beauty in diversity, is in line with Sebastiao Salgado's approach, who considers that "people are beautiful everywhere and everywhere they want to be represented with dignity".
