Alex Webb
exhibition from 17 March to 20 May 2017
The A-Galerie offers a selection of some twenty prints by photographer Alex Webb, a virtuoso of colour photography and a member of the famous Magnum agency. After starting out in black and white, Alex Webb has specialised in colour reports in Mexico, Haiti, Turkey, Spain, India and the United States among others. A master of light and composition, he offers "a highly interpretative vision of the world spectacle" (1), between the particular and the universal. An absolute and undisputed talent on a global level, which has honoured us with his first gallery exhibition in Belgium, following his remarkable exhibition at the Botanique cultural centre in 2016.
The exhibition at the gallery features a set of photographs specially chosen for the occasion, a representative collection of his work over many years.
The works "La Calle" and "The suffering and joy of light" will be available on the exhibition.
