Black animal engravings by Frédéric Penelle with an installation Mécanique discursives with Yannick Jacquet
Exhibition from 3 May to 29 June 2019
"Animal black or bone charcoal is a carbon-rich material obtained by calcining bones in a crucible to prevent air from entering. It is used for its filtration property which allows the discolouration of certain solutions".
This is perfectly suited to the world of Frédéric Penelle, who has long been an observer of our dark technological deliquescences and fossil trends.
Winner of the 2005 Prix de la Gravure (Centre de la Gravure et de l'Image Imprimée, La Louvière, Belgium), where he has just had a major exhibition, Frédéric Penelle is presenting an original collection at the A-Galerie.
